Infant Room (6 Weeks–18 Months)
Our Infant Room is a calm, nurturing space designed for your baby’s very first experiences away from home. We care for children ages 6 weeks to 18 months with a small group size (9 infants per day) and a dedicated team of 2–3 teachers, so every baby receives the TLC, attention, and responsiveness they need to feel safe and secure.
This room is truly all about your child—supporting each milestone month by month, at their pace. From tummy time and early movement to first foods, first words, and everything in between, our teachers focus on gentle routines, safe exploration, and lots of snuggles, songs, and connection.
Communication with families is a key part of the Infant Room. We work hard to build a strong relationship with you from day one and keep you closely connected to your baby’s day. We track and share naps, feedings, and diaper changes daily, and you’ll receive regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and informed while you’re away. Our goal is for you to feel like you have a trusted team supporting you—and for your baby to feel loved, comforted, and celebrated every single day.
Toddler Rooms (1–3 Years)
After the Infant Room, children transition into one of our two Toddler Rooms serving ages 1 to 3 years—supporting a smooth, familiar progression as they grow. Toddlerhood is full of big feelings, big movement, and big learning, and our classrooms are built around the “beginning stages” of independence: learning routines, trying new skills, and starting to do more on their own with steady support from caring teachers.
In our Toddler Rooms, we focus on early development through play and daily rhythms. Teachers intentionally support gross and fine motor growth (climbing, balancing, stacking, scribbling, using utensils), social-emotional regulation (sharing, turn-taking,
naming feelings, calming strategies), and early problem-solving and independence (washing hands, cleaning up, following simple directions, choosing activities). We also begin gentle kindergarten-readiness foundations like listening skills, group participation, and simple classroom expectations—always in an age-appropriate way.
Early language and literacy skills are learned best through everyday moments—reading books, talking, laughing, and playing together. Children learn language when we speak with them and they respond, and by hearing stories read aloud and songs sung often. You’ll see lots of conversation, music, and repetition in our toddler classrooms, along with sensory play, art, and hands-on activities that build vocabulary and confidence. Most of all, we aim to create a safe, consistent environment where toddlers feel secure enough to explore—and proud of themselves as they grow.
Preschool 1 (Ages 2.5–3.5 Years)
Our Preschool 1 classroom is the bridge between toddlerhood and preschool—where children take the skills they’ve been building and begin to expand them in a bigger group setting. We continue strengthening all the key foundations from our Toddler Rooms (gross and fine motor, early language, social-emotional development, routines, and independence) while adding more structure, longer activity times, and deeper peer-to-peer learning.
A big focus in Preschool 1 is learning how to be part of a classroom community: taking turns, waiting, listening, participating in group activities, and practicing how to “use our words” with friends. Teachers help children navigate friendships, solve conflicts, and build confidence communicating their needs and feelings in respectful ways.
This is also typically the stage when families choose to introduce potty training. Our team works closely with you to create a consistent plan, support your child with patience and positivity, and help them build the skills and confidence they need. By the time children are ready to move up to the next class, they’re well on their way to being independent and successful with toileting routines.
Preschool 2 (Ages 3–4 Years)
Preschool 2 is where children really begin to blossom as confident learners and thoughtful friends. Building on everything developed in Preschool 1, we continue strengthening social-emotional skills, independence, and communication—while
expanding early academic foundations through hands-on, play-based learning. Children practice listening and following multi-step directions, participating in group activities, working through challenges, and using their words to solve problems, share ideas, and build strong friendships.
This classroom is located in our modular building, which provides a more “traditional classroom” environment—similar to what children will experience in kindergarten. The setting supports longer group times, more structured learning centers, and classroom routines that help children feel prepared and capable as they grow. You’ll see increased focus on early literacy (letters, sounds, stories), early math (counting, patterns, shapes), creative expression, and fine motor development through art, writing readiness, and manipulatives.
Children in Preschool 2 can also begin joining our immersive field trips and special programs—experiences like skiing, ice skating, hiking, and more. These adventures help build confidence, resilience, and a love of learning beyond the classroom, while giving kids meaningful opportunities to practice teamwork, listening skills, and independence in real-world settings.
Preschool 2 is the sweet spot of fun and growth: plenty of play, movement, and creativity—paired with the structure and consistency that helps children build confidence, independence, and readiness for the next big step.
Pre-K (Ages 3.5–5 Years)
Our Pre-K program is designed to help children step confidently into kindergarten—socially, emotionally, and academically—while still keeping learning joyful, hands-on, and age-appropriate. In this classroom, children build strong independence skills, practice being part of a group, and grow into leaders who can follow routines, solve problems, and collaborate with friends.
We focus on kindergarten readiness through play-based learning that strengthens early literacy and math foundations—letter recognition and sounds, early writing skills, storytelling, number sense, counting, patterns, and simple problem-solving. Just as important, we continue to prioritize social-emotional development: using words to communicate, managing big feelings, resolving conflicts, showing empathy, and building confidence in new situations.
Pre-K also includes enriching experiences beyond the classroom. Children participate in outdoor programming and can join our immersive field trips and special activities—like hiking, skiing, ice skating, and more—giving them real-world opportunities to practice independence, teamwork, listening skills, and resilience.
Our goal is for every child to leave Honey Tree feeling capable, curious, and excited for what’s next—ready for kindergarten and proud of who they are.
Wild Wanderers (Ages 3.5–6 Years)
Wild Wanderers is our adventure-based program for children ages 3.5 to 6 years old—created for families who want a small-group experience with big opportunities to explore. This program is intentionally kept to the same 12 children each day, led by the same dedicated teacher, which creates a strong sense of community, consistency, and trust.
Because the group is small and familiar, children can build independence and confidence quickly. They practice listening skills, following directions, staying with the group, and working together—essential life skills that translate directly into kindergarten success. Most days are spent out in the community on field trips and outdoor adventures, giving children the chance to learn through real experiences beyond the classroom.
Trips range from pure fun (sledding, parks, seasonal adventures) to hands-on learning experiences like visiting the fire station, exploring a fish hatchery, and discovering local community resources. These lucky kids get to experience our valley in a way that builds curiosity, resilience, and a love of learning—before they ever step into elementary school.
Wild Wanderers blends play, exploration, and strong kindergarten-readiness foundations, all within a small-group setting where teachers can truly focus on each child’s growth.
